Little Bao and Big JJ’s Bring Hong Kong’s Boldest Comfort Food Energy Together for the Next BAODOWN

BAODOWN returns this August with Big JJ’s Seafood Hotpot, the cult-favourite Hong Kong institution known for taking the city’s most familiar flavours and giving them a distinctly irreverent edge. On 24 August, Chef Alisha, Chef Fai Chow and Big JJ’s founder Chef Peter Pang, join Chef May Chow at Little Bao Central for a one-night-only collaboration that brings two very different Hong Kong dining personalities to the same table.
For BAODOWN, that energy meets Little Bao’s playful approach to Hong Kong comfort food. Chef May Chow and Chef Peter Pang bring together two kitchens that share a love for big flavours, familiar references and a healthy disregard for doing things quietly. Expect a menu that plays with the language of Hong Kong dining while pulling from both chefs’ distinct perspectives, bringing together the convivial spirit of eating with Little Bao’s signature sense of fun.
Big JJ’s brings a distinctly Hong Kong sensibility to the BAODOWN table. Founded by Peter Pang in 2020, the cult-favourite began as a gritty spot before moving into its current home at Landmark Prince’s, where its personality remains as unpolished and irreverent as ever. By day, it channels the familiar comforts of a cha chaan teng, while nights give way to a lively hotpot club built around premium local ingredients, generous flavours, and the social energy of eating around a shared pot. It satisfies just about any cravings, and it is this exact, unapologetic Hong Kong spirit that makes Big JJ’s one of the most natural fits for Little Bao’s BAODOWN series.
The six-course dinner menu:
Jus番茄牛清湯 | Cold Tomato Beef Consomme with Pickles by Alisha
輝哥魚飯 | Poached Daily Catch Served Cold by Fai
蝦多士 | Shrimp Toast
咖喱羊排 Little Bao | Curry Lamb Rib Bao with Pickled Onion
牛叉燒蔥蛋炒飯 | Fried Rice with Beef Char Siu, Scallion and Egg
伯爵檸檬茶雪葩 | Earl gray Lemon Tea Sorbet
Held exclusively at Little Bao on 1-3 Shin Hing Street, the BAODOWN experience continues the restaurant’s run of community-led collaborations, with more culture-driven dining events featuring major regional names to follow.
The experience is offered as a ticketed six-course dinner at HKD 680 per person, with seatings at 5:30PM, 7:30PM, and 9PM on 24th August. Each seating is limited to 19 guests only.
All prices mentioned are subject to a 10% service charge.
