Media Spotlights

The enigmatic project Glass Beams is the creation of Indian-Australian multi-instrumentalist and producer Rajan Silva. It will bring its hypnotic, genre-defying sound to Singapore for the very first time on Tuesday, 14th October 2025 at the Esplanade Theatre. Known for performing behind ornate, bejewelled masks, Silva has built a cult following for his electrifying live performances that blur the line between concert and ritual. By blending psychedelic rock and cosmic funk with elements of Indian classical, Bollywood melodies, and Eastern drones, Glass Beams creates a sound that is both otherworldly and deeply communal.

Since its emergence in 2021, Glass Beams has rapidly ascended the global music scene, captivating audiences and critics alike with hypnotic soundscapes. Drawing inspiration from Indian fusion composers of the 60s and 70s such as Ravi Shankar and R.D. Burman, Silva weaves these roots into Western rock, funk, and psychedelia, citing influences ranging from The Beatles and George Harrison to blues and jazz icons. His live sets merge the past and present, combining modern electronic production with traditional instruments to create a transcendent experience for audiences.

This unique blend of genres led Glass Beams to sign with Ninja Tune in 2023, joining a roster that includes Bonobo and ODESZA. The sophomore EP, Mahal, received widespread acclaim from publications such as Pitchfork and Rolling Stone India, praised for its hypnotic East-meets-West fusion and groove-driven production. With over 22 million streams on Spotify and 10 million views on YouTube, Glass Beams has cemented itself as one of the most exciting projects to emerge from Australia in recent years.

Fresh off sold-out tours across the US, UK, and Europe, and standout festival appearances at Glastonbury, Primavera Sound, and Pitchfork Music Festival Paris, Silva now turns his sights to Asia. This highly anticipated run marks the first-ever Glass Beams tour of the region, giving fans a rare chance to witness the project’s transcendent live show up close.
