Horatio, Resorts World Sentosa’s (RWS, 淘沙名胜世界) whimsical whisky-forward cocktail bar, continues its journey of exploration to the fragrant peaks of Hong Kong with the third edition of its guest shift series,  Horatio’s Curious Companions. Concluding the year on a high note, Horatio’s invites Gagan Gurung from Hong Kong—founder of the award-winning Tell Camellia, ranked among Asia’s 50 Best Bars, and one of the region’s leading voices in tea-inspired mixology, for a one-night-only experience that brings his world of tea, culture and craft to Singapore.

Taking place on Thursday, 12 December, from 8pm to 11pm, this exclusive evening will see Gagan share a series of tea-based creations that bridge tradition and innovation. Guided by his philosophy of “from farm to bar,” each cocktail reflects a commitment to craftsmanship, sustainability, and storytelling. This edition also highlights Two Moons Calamansi Gin from Hong Kong, the city where Gagan has built and refined his tea-focused style. Together, these elements transform the art of tea into a thoughtful, multilayered drinking experience.

Born in Nepal and based in Hong Kong, Gagan Gurung has become one of Asia’s most distinctive figures in contemporary cocktail culture. His journey began behind the bars of Hong Kong’s top venues before founding Tell Camellia in 2019, a concept that celebrates global tea traditions through modern mixology. Each cocktail at Tell Camellia is inspired by a different country, reimagining its tea heritage through flavour, texture and aroma. Since its opening, the bar has consistently been recognised on the Asia’s 50 Best Bars list for its innovative approach, thoughtful use of ingredients and the serene narrative it builds through each sip.

For this edition of Horatio’s Curious Companions, Gagan will present three signature cocktails alongside a secret password-only creation. All cocktails for the evening will be priced at $20.

  • Teapresso Martini

Hailed as the purest expression of Gagan’s tea philosophy, the signature Teapresso Martini reimagines the Espresso Martini without coffee or caffeine. Using hojicha tea and malted cacao, it evokes the same depth and indulgence but with a calm, toasty serenity. Served silky and cold in a classic martini glass, it is crowned with a dusting of pistachio that adds both aroma and texture. Smooth, nutty and quietly confident, it transforms a familiar favourite into something entirely new, reflective of Gagan’s belief that tea can awaken the senses without haste.

  • Rock Paloma

A twist on the Mexican classic, Rock Paloma journeys from the highlands of Wuyi Mountain to the coastlines of Japan. The cocktail blends white tea, Japanese melon, pink grapefruit and beetroot vinegar, finished with smoky mezcal and a sparkling lift of CO₂. Served tall over crystal-clear ice, it becomes a conversation between earth and air, smoky yet refreshing, grounded yet effervescent. Each note lingers, echoing Gagan’s signature style of creating contrasts that stay with you long after the glass is empty.

  • Tea’s Knees

Gagan’s Tea’s Knees captures the quiet harmony between tea and terroir. A luminous blend of Ceylon tea, local Hong Kong honey, fresh lemon and Two Moons Calamansi Gin, the drink is a study in balance and brightness. As the spirit distilled in Gagan’s home, Two Moons adds a distinctly Hong Kong expression to the cocktail, carrying subtle citrus notes that anchor the blend with both familiarity and place. Each sip unfurls layers of floral sweetness and citrus lift, while the gentle hum of tea grounds it in warmth and memory. Inspired by his close collaborations with local producers, Tea’s Knees reflects Gagan’s connection to the city he calls home, expressive, refreshing and alive.

  • Gagan’s Secret Cocktail

In keeping with Horatio’s Curious Companions’ spirit of discovery, guests can look forward to unlocking a password-only cocktail drawn from Barcode, Gagan’s dessert and coffee-inspired sister bar, revealed only to those who follow the trail of clues on Horatio’s Instagram (@thehoratiosingapore) 48 hours before the event. The exclusive cocktail taken from Barcode’s lineup of indulgent, dessert-inspired drinks, shows a different side of Gagan’s craft beyond his tea-focused serves

More than a showcase of fine cocktails, this edition of Horatio’s Curious Companions invites guests to explore Gagan’s world of tea, craft and hometown spirit, where every serve reveals how leaf, origin and technique shape a new story in the glass.
