Club Rangoon Marks Two-Year Milestone with Three Days of Guest Shifts,Culinary Collaborations and a Grand Birthday Celebration

Club Rangoon is turning two this August, and the team is opening its doors for an all-out, three-day celebration of the food, drinks and friendships that have shaped its journey. From Thursday, 27 August to Saturday, 29 August 2026, the contemporary Burmese restaurant will welcome the region’s hospitality community for guest shifts by Stay Gold Flamingo, Offtrack, Bar Bon Funk and Naga House, a Camp Krapao kitchen takeover, and a closing-night birthday party featuring food by Chef Ahmir of Between Buns and “Zombie” on tap by Draft Land.

Fresh from the launch of its most ambitious menu yet, the milestone finds Club Rangoon stepping into its next chapter with a stronger identity. Grounded in Burmese flavours and the Htoo family’s food memories, the restaurant has evolved into a more playful and collaborative expression of the cuisine—one shaped by the people behind it and the wider hospitality community around it.

“Throughout my journey in hospitality, the most meaningful part has always been the friendships built around food and drinks,” says Restaurant Manager Kevin Harumal. “Bringing friends from across the region together at Club Rangoon makes this anniversary especially personal. It reflects who we are today: a contemporary expression of Burmese cuisine, rooted in tradition and open to new ideas.”

FRIENDS OF CR: GUEST SHIFTS

The programme opens behind the bar with Friends of CR, featuring guest shifts by Stay Gold Flamingo, Offtrack, Bar Bon Funk and Naga House, with support from Roku Gin and Jura Whisky. Each visiting bar will bring its own style and signature serves to the evening.

Accompanying the cocktails is a selection of Club Rangoon’s signature bites and small plates, featuring the Crispy Chicken Cartilage, Mutton Croquette, and Tomato Ngapi-Chet Labneh. For those seeking heartier fare, substantial offerings include the Pork Katsu bathed in a Burmese-style curry and Charred Cabbage served in a robust tomato-garlic gravy, while the Coconut Ice Cream with Golden Hearts provides a delightful, sweet note to the dining experience.

CAMP KRAPAO KITCHEN TAKEOVER: NEW GEN “KAP KLAEM”

On Friday, Club Rangoon’s own Executive Chef Noom Singdaechakarn takes over the kitchen with Camp Krapao, her modern Thai pop-up, for New Gen “Kap Klaem”—a menu inspired by the food made for drinking in Thailand.

Translating to “drinking food” in Thai, Kap Klaem refers to the bold, punchy dishes enjoyed over a round or two. Camp Krapao reimagines the tradition for a new generation, giving beloved drinking dishes inventive twists without losing their lively, convivial spirit. Highlights include Green Curry Toast and Moo Ping–a popular Thai snack of tender pork skewers marinated and grilled to a smoky char—showcasing a playful yet rooted perspective on Thailand's culinary drinking culture.

BIRTHDAY PARTY WITH SECRET PALS, CHEF AMIR & DRAFT LAND

The three-day celebration reaches its high note on Saturday with Club Rangoon’s official birthday party, bringing food, drinks and music together for a jovial evening.

For the occasion, Chef Ahmir—from Between Buns—steps away from the concept’s usual menu to showcase a different side of his cooking. Taking inspiration from the vibrant flavours between Indian and Burmese food cultures, Amir finds common ground in the layered curries, spices and generous approach to shared dining. Guests can expect a one-night-only menu that brings the bold flavours and personality of his cooking together with Club Rangoon’s playful, convivial spirit, featuring dishes such as Aloo Chaat, Raw Scallops with Grapefruit Dressing, and Fried Halibut with Jungle Curry and Roti.

Complementing the food is Draft Land’s signature “Zombie” directly from the tap, keeping the drinks flowing throughout the night, while DJ Duo Secret Pals takes over the decks with a groove-led soundtrack. Together, the food, drinks and music set the stage as Club Rangoon raises a glass to two years at Duxton Road.

Club Rangoon’s second-anniversary celebrations will take place from Thursday, 27 August to Saturday, 29 August 2026. Guests will be welcomed on a walk-in basis only throughout the three-day celebration.
