BEES BAR by NARISAWA is proud to present its first-ever concept pop-up, “Residencia Mexicana en Tokio,” in collaboration with Edo Kobayashi Hospitality.

From August 20 through the end of October 2026, BEES BAR in Minami-Aoyama will transform into an authentic Mexican cantina that embodies the spirit of Mexico’s bar culture. This limited-time project has been made possible through a collaboration with Edo Kobayashi Hospitality and its founder, Edo López.

Opened in 2018, BEES BAR by NARISAWA is Chef Yoshihiro Narisawa’s casual bar, created as a place where guests can enjoy rare spirits sourced from around the world in a relaxed and social atmosphere, offering a different experience from his restaurant.

BEES BAR by NARISAWA (Tokyo)

At the heart of BEES BAR lies Chef Narisawa’s long-standing fascination with the bar culture of Latin America. Throughout his travels, he has been inspired by the genuine hospitality and exceptional craftsmanship he encountered, experiences that eventually led him to build one of Japan’s largest private tequila collections. BEES BAR was created not only to showcase that collection, but also to share the culture and spirit behind it with guests in Tokyo.

The project’s partner, Edo López, opened the Japanese restaurant Rokai in Mexico City in 2013. Today, Edo Kobayashi Hospitality operates restaurants, bars, and hotels across Mexico City, Madrid, Miami, and Tokyo, earning international recognition as a hospitality group that bridges Japanese and Mexican cultures.

Together, Chef Narisawa and Edo López set out to create something beyond a Japanese interpretation of Mexican cuisine. Their vision is to offer an authentic experience of Mexico’s food and bar culture, preserving its techniques, traditions, and spirit in the heart of Tokyo.

The menu has been curated under the supervision of Chef Narisawa, featuring premium seasonal ingredients sourced from trusted producers throughout Japan. Centered around traditional Mexican dishes such as tostadas, tacos, and enmoladas, the menu combines the finest Japanese seafood, vegetables, and meats in a special collection available only during this residency.

The beverage program features original cocktails made with Mexican spirits, including Siete Leguas, making its debut in Japan, alongside seasonal fruits such as white peach, mango, and passion fruit.

To complete the experience, a music selection curated by Edo López will be played through a high-fidelity sound system, creating an immersive atmosphere that allows guests to experience the spirit of Mexico through not only its food and drinks, but the entire environment.

Mexico Edition is not a project introducing Mexican cuisine adapted for Japanese tastes.

Instead, it is a limited-time collaboration born from a long-standing friendship, offering guests the opportunity to experience authentic Mexican cuisine and bar culture in Tokyo.
