The Foundry Presents: Spirits of Asia

This February and March, Asia’s top mixology talents will gather for an all-star lineup of guest shifts and themed collaborations during Bar Convent Singapore (BCB). In honour of this vibrant community, The Foundry Asia will be bringing together icons and rising stars from the region and extending BCB into a month-long celebration across Singapore, Bangkok and Shanghai.

[27 Feb, Thursday] Mark Lloyd from Wing Lei Bar at Bar Us (Bangkok)

Head Mixologist Mark Lloyd of Wing Lei Bar at Wynn Palace Macau will be taking over one of Bangkok’s most eminent bars, Bar Us (ranked #41 on World’s 50 Best Bars 2023), for one night only, 27 February from 8-11pm. Both bars are celebrated for their scientific approach to mixology, utilising curated distillates, tinctures, and infusions to create culinary-inspired cocktails that play with and intrigue the senses in the most unexpected ways. Drawing on his industrial chemistry and distilling background, Lloyd will feature repurposed ingredients and global spices to present an unpredictable drinks roster that embodies Wing Lei Bar’s philosophy of “limitless cocktails,” engaging both drinks industry nerds and novices alike.

Showcasing sneak peeks sips from Lloyd’s soon-to-debut bespoke bar programme, this guest shift will offer imbibers an opportunity to experience these new cocktails before anyone else!

[7 Mar, Friday] Dames & Drinks: An Asian Spice Route Rally at 1929 by Guillaume Galliot

1929 by Guillaume Galliot is thrilled to announce “Dames & Drinks: An Asian Spice Route Rally,” a women-led cocktail event that will take place on the eve of International Women’s Day. This three-hour guest bartender takeover will introduce the venue’s Spice Road Cocktail menu to the Shanghai bar scene, highlighting the talents of three celebrated regional female bartenders from Hong Kong, Singapore, and Saigon, plus 1929 by Guillaume Galliot’s own Assistant Bar Manager, Mokino Liu, and Restaurant Manager, Vivian Chen. The event will feature a captivating “Tour of Asia,” where each bartender will take the stage for one hour, serving three signature cocktails that embody the unique spices, ingredients, and flavours of their respective cities. The fourth cocktail each hour will be a signature drink from 1929 by Guillaume Galliot’s own cocktail menu, inspired by the same city.

In honour of International Women's Day, Manhattan Bar at Conrad Singapore Orchard, consistently ranked among Asia’s 50 Best Bars and The World’s 50 Best Bars, is set to host an all-star lineup of female bartenders shaping the global cocktail industry. On Sunday, 9 March 2025, Manhattan welcomed an elite trio from Hong Kong’s dynamic cocktail scene: Beckaly Franks, Ezra Star, and Chloe-Rose Natterer for an exclusive one-night guest shift. This event will offer guests a chance to experience world-class cocktails from some of Asia’s most awarded and influential bartenders, each recognised for their groundbreaking contributions to the art of mixology.
