
The team behind the lauded Barbary Coast (No. 29 on Asia’s 50 Best Bars List 2021) and only one of three bars to score a coveted spot on The Pinnacle Guide 2024 has rebranded, repositioned, and relaunched sister-venue Deadfall into an agave forward neighborhood watering hole pouring friendly, fuss-free libations, served straight up with a twist.
With a curated selection of 72 agave spirits, the bar showcases one of the city’s largest collections, celebrated on a cocktail menu that is homage to all things Mexico – without the clichés. There are no paintings of Frida Kahlo, no sombreros nor imagery of mariachi bands. Instead, the vibrant space features inventive drinks that spotlight fresh ingredients, like the Pasilla Mole Negroni and the Buttered Paloma, crafted using sustainable techniques in a dedicated cocktail lab.

The food sees an expansive spread of ‘Mexi-porean’ plates – Mexico meets Singapore dishes. Think a traditional Singaporean eats backbone reimagined with Mexican flair, like Hainanese chicken and rice wrapped into a burrito, 48-hour braised beef rendang “relleno” stuffed inside a smoked poblano with salsa roja, Singaporean chili prawns quesadilla, and salted egg yolk cauliflower tacos.
Open until 3am, Deadfall Cantina offers high-quality drams for the discerning night owls. The atmosphere is enhanced by music programming curated by co-owner Michael Callahan, featuring reggaeton, salsa, cumbia, Latin pop, and more.
