Named after ‘+91”, India’s international area code, Nine One is the first restaurant project realised by Mumbai-native Samaira Kavatkar. Located in Tsim Sha Tsui, and seats 95 guests, Nine One is the gathering place of Indian dishes designed and crafted by chef Samaira Kavatkar also known as The Bombay East Indian Girl.
Through her rich Indian-Portuguese heritage and upbringing surrounding by home cooking and entertaining, Kavatkar channels her nostalgia for vibrant flavour profiles and memories of her time in the spice nation, reinventing her classic dishes for guests to experience and enjoy.
“There is a misunderstanding among food lovers, that there is only curries in Indian cuisine. The reality is, there is so much more and I’m here to show everything the many possibilities of Indian cuisine beyond expectations.”
Nine One invites all guests into a personal exploration of India’s regional specialities, where dishes root from all corners of the country, sharing the common bond — Kavatkar’s own homemade spice blends and time-honoured recipes.
